Beginning Wednesday, October 12, those driving on North Medical Drive will see a slight change in the traffic pattern as construction crews continue to make progress on the North Medical Drive Project. Scroll down to watch a short video to know what to expect.
Heading Eastbound Toward the Health Sciences Campus
Two lanes can be used at all times for commuters heading eastbound toward the Health Sciences Campus.
The right lane for University Hospital.
The left lane for all other buildings including the Jewish Community Center, Huntsman Cancer Institute, Clinical Neurosciences Center, and the Craig H. Neilsen Rehabilitation Hospital.
Heading Westbound Leaving the Health Sciences Campus
For those leaving the health sciences campus, all traffic will be funneled to a single westbound lane.
What's Changed?
When driving, you'll notice the entrance to the university hospital has moved slightly.
When leaving the hospital, drivers will be directed into a roundabout where they can turn left or right.
Pedestrian routes can be seen in the map below highlighted in green.
During this phase, flaggers and signs will be in place to keep drivers safe and traffic flowing. But congestion and delays are possible and should be expected, especially during the morning and evening rush hours. So, please build in some extra time in your travel plans.
